Romantic Getaways UK

Romantic getaways in the UK are a dream come true for loved up couples. There are plenty of places to head for a romantic UK break and show off your loving personality traits, but which ones should be top of the list. Look no further, here are my suggestions for your romantic weekend break in the UK.

The Cotswolds

The Cotswolds are a great place for a romantic getaway in the UK. You and your loved one can stroll hand-in-hand through the impressive 50 acres of botanical gardens at Batsford Arboretum.

There’s also a lovely four or six-mile walking trail on Cleeve Hill. The routes may take you between two and five hours, so you can pack a romantic picnic too.

Have you seen pictures of lavender fields in the UK? Chances are those pictures were in the Cotswolds. So head there in the summer to take in the sights and the smells with your beloved.

Windsor

Not only is Windsor charming, but it has also been the host to many a romantic royal wedding so it’s perfect for a romantic UK break. Whilst you are there, you could enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride for two with a glass of champagne. You’ll be treated to a tour of the beautiful town in style.

If you don’t fancy seeing the sights on four legs, you could book a private boat trip and see it from the water instead.

What could be more romantic than visiting the Cliveden gardens which house the Fountain of Love? It’s perfect for marriage proposals and those all-important sickening selfies.

Cambridge

Cambridge’s canals had to make the list. You can’t get more romantic than punting up and down Cambridge’s waterways. If you fancy a more lazy approach to your break, you can hire someone to do the punting for you, and just take in the views together instead.

Jurassic Coast, Dorset

The beautiful coastline in Dorset is just the ticket for a romantic weekend getaway in the UK. There are lots of cute little villages to wander through and admire. Why not stop at the cosy tea rooms for a cuppa and a slice?

You can’t go to Dorset for a romantic break without a spot of fossil hunting along the coast. It might bring out the rivalry of who can find the best fossil, but you’ll soon be able to make up on the beautiful coastal walk back.

You must take in the view of Durdle Door whilst you are visiting on your romantic UK break. It’s quite a sight to behold.

Romantic Getaway UK

Leeds Castle, Kent

Known as the UK’s loveliest castle, Leeds Castle won’t disappoint when it comes to romantic UK breaks. You can book to stay in the castle or the glamping tents. Either way, you and your loved one will be enjoying walks through the picturesque grounds in no time. If you are venturing further afield from the Castle, there are several pretty villages nearby with spectacular walks, some even have gastro pubs on route.

Cheddar Gorge

One of the most spectacular natural landmarks in the UK, so it’s perfect for couples to hike and explore together. Take a romantic picnic for two and enjoy some good old fresh air together.

Of course, once you’ve done all that hiking, you should reward yourself with some of the area’s famous cheese. I’ve heard it pairs well with wine.

Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond is breathtakingly beautiful. The Trossachs National Park in which it sits is almost unbelievably beautiful. If you and your partner are feeling energetic, why not hire some bikes and cycle one of the routes on offer.

If you fancy something a bit different, grab your loved one and go on one of the sunset boat tours. Loch Lomond is perfect for this list of romantic getaways in the UK.

Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland

The Giant’s Causeway isn’t offered the justice it deserves in the photos you see. It’s the sort of place you really have to see for yourself. This is why it’s perfect for a romantic mini-break for two. The coastline and countryside around the area are stunning. Whilst you are there, you should visit the famous Wishing Chair, which is a natural throne formed from a perfectly arranged set of columns.

Stay a couple of nights and see what else is on offer in the area. It will be a romantic break that you’ll remember forever.

Giants Causeway

Bath

You and your loved one can tour the Roman Baths with its ancient pump house first. Then once you’ve taken in the history of this awesome city, you should head to the Thermae Bath Spa and take in the rooftop pool at sunset. You can’t get more romantic than that.

Stay overnight in the beautiful city and you can explore more of what Bath has to offer the following day. There are so many hotels in Bath offering romantic breaks, you’ll be hard pushed to choose.

If you are travelling further afield and need to access online services that aren’t available in that country, why not use a vpn for iPhone to get access to the websites you need? If you are looking for more ideas of where to travel to in the UK, why not take a look at a trip to Manchester? Or you could even venture to York. There are plenty of ideas in this post on the top 8 places to visit in York.
